Tiger
Since ancient times the combination of bamboo and the tiger have been considered lucky and are seem in many paintings.
The tiger is alone creature, proud of its strength, but it cannot get the better of elephants who form herds.
When the tiger comes across an elephant, therefore, it escapes into the bamboo forest. As the supple bamboo harms the elephant's tusks, they do not enter the forest and therefore, the bamboo forest is considered to be a safe and secure haven for the tiger.
