Utagawa Kuniyoshi was one of the great nineteenth-century masters of the ukiyo-e style of Japanese woodblock prints. This volume contains 101 Kuniyoshi prints, which comprise the following two series: Taiheiki eiyu den (Heroic Biographies from the "Tale of Grand Pacification"), 50 prints. Seichu gishi den ("The Faithful Samurai"), 51 prints. Each portrait has its name and introduction in English. If you love Kuniyoshi and samurai, you can't go wrong with this book.
